Well - this was awkward. Or at least, Lovino felt incredibly awkward, standing near the light pole, waiting for Antonio to arrive. Then again, maybe it was the butterflies in his stomach or how he felt so thrilled and yet so terrified to know that the older man returned his feelings. And so incredibly nervous because, dear god, he was on a date. With the man he was slowly coming to grips with loving.
For what felt like the hundredth time in the last short while, he forced himself to not turn and stare at the large bell tower that was the peak of the city. Antonio wasn't late... yet. He was early. Striving to look anywhere but the clock, he found his eyes trailing up the lamp post... and locked eyes with the golden stare of one of the hawks that the city was famous for.
He could feel those happy feelings being doused behind the cold rush of fear that he hadn't felt since... since Antonio nearly got killed. "Oh god.... please don't eat me, bird." he muttered, to afraid to try and run away as it might attack him from behind as he fled.

Antonio felt like he was late. Damn it. He had disappeared into the city before Lovino (after being yelled at for poking his head in his room--"I'm getting ready, you bastard, go the fuck away!" had been the response. ), and by doing so, ended up coming back with an armful of flowers, bright red ones. Of course, that had taken him a while to pick and...sure enough, he lost track of time. The Spaniard dashed around a corner in the massive city, keeping an eye on the bell tower. Just a few minutes!
Moments later, he skidded to a stop in front of the lightpost, grinning like an idiot and panting, cheeks flushed. For tonight he'd shed his fancy coat and hat for something a little more downplayed; a button up shirt and a pair of dark pants. He wanted to look his best after all, for his date~

The moment his date the spaniard appeared in front of him, Antonio would find Lovi cowering behind him, shaking. "Don't let it eat meee..." he whined, pointing up at the hawk, still sitting on top of the pole. "D-damn bird." Clinging to the back of his Boss's shirt and under the abject fear he felt of the menacing bird, was this little growing feeling of incredible happiness - both because Antonio showed up (on time!) and... deep down, he thanked the bird for giving him an excuse to get real close without seeming mushy.

Antonio blinked as Lovino zoomed behind him, the flowers still thrust out before him like Lovi was still standing there. A bit slow on the uptake as always, the Spaniard looked up, noticing the bird. It sure was menacing looking; and somewhere, the little part of him that was superstitious told him to turn around. But that was quickly quashed by the "I'm going on a date with Lovino!"part, which was what made him turn around and envelope his first mate in a hug. "Don't worry! I'll save you!"

"Y-you better!" he mumbled into the back of Antonio's shirt, eyeing the bird as best he could from a view partially blocked by the spanish man's hair. "Kill iiiiit. Grab Cortez or shoot it or... or just chase it away, I don't care, but it's looking at me like I'm a tomato and I don't wanna be somethings snack." he whimpered, as the bird tilted it's head menacingly before..... flying away.
For a long moment, Lovi didn't move, just staring at where the bird had been before pushing away from his Boss with a cough. "Err... " he looked around, flustered. "Good... good job. Very... intimidating." he ended, wishing he didn't sound so... stupid saying that.
