"That's a very good saying." To say he was surprised to hear Portuguese would be an understatement. But it was a pleasant surprise. He mulled over the words Thiago had said. It really was a good saying, the Portuguese man tucking it away for future reference. He looked towards the Brazilian, before towards his crew, finally noticing Antonio and Lovino watching them warily. And he almost rolled his eyes. They both probably expected him to get himself into some sort of trouble again. Instead he looked back towards Thiago, tilting his head to one side. "Do you have any idea where you will be heading too next?"

"Yeah, it is."
The Brazilian nodded, smiling. He liked that saying very much. It had a nice meaning. Hearing Afonso's question, he looked at him again and blinked.
"Nah, actually I don't have any idea. I usually just wander around, without a destination in mind. Why?"

"Ah well..." He scratched the side of his cheek a bit nervously. Why had he asked? Part of him wanted to ask if Thiago wanted to travel with them, for some reason he couldn't stand the idea of the boy continuing to travel on his own. But what if he didn't like the idea of traveling with sky pirates? It wasn't an ideal for most people. With a sigh, he chickened out asking his original question merely shrugging. "Ah, just curious I guess. It must get lonely. Traveling alone I mean.

"Ah... It is. It really can get pretty lonely."
Thiago nodded and looked away again, to the sea, his smile getting tinny. It was one thing he disliked about traveling by himself. It could get very lonely and being lonely like that was surely one of the things he disliked the most, but he wasn't going to complain. He was the one who wanted to start traveling and since the very start of it he knew that he wasn't going to have company.

He glanced at the other, taking note of how his smile had shrunk a little. He looked away again, continuing to wiggle his toes beneath the warm sand. "My friends and I, we aren't really your normal travelers... I mean..."
He paused, eyes drifting up towards the sky. He hesitated not wanting to scare the other off.

The hesitation on the other's voice made Thiago curious, so he turned his head to him and tilted it a bit, blinking and making his curiosity very evident.
"Hmmm? What do you mean by 'not your normal travelers'?"

Oh he should have just kept his mouth shut. Rubbing the back of his neck with one hand, he gestured to the sky with the other. "Ah, well we travel in the air, not the ground."
He hesitated again, before giving Thiago a sheepish smile. "And we're kind of sky pirates."
Definitely should have kept his mouth shut.

The Brazilian let out a quiet yet surprised 'oh', nodding at the first sentence said by the Portuguese. Then, when he pronounced the words 'sky pirates', his eyes went wide. He stared at him for a moment. He blinked and looked away, to the sea again, and then, a moment later, the first thing he replied, in a low whisper, was:
"... You know, that sounds kinda cool."

Afonso just stared at the other for a few moments blinking. That is until his mind registered what he had said. He didn't look frightened at all.
"Re-really? You aren't scared..?" He was so use to getting frightened looks, he couldn't help but be taken aback.

"Ah, not really. Well... Why should I be? You just told me you and your friends are sky pirates, but you didn't do anything to harm me until now. I don't see why I should be scared."
Thiago explained, tilting his head a bit, lifting an eyebrow as if his explanation was the most obvious one in the world. Then he smiled again.
"But of course it was surprising to know you're a pirate."

"Most people get nervous or scared... Generally speaking." He blinked, before thinking over the boys explanation. Ah, that did make an awful lot, not that that had stopped others from being scared in the past. And the he couldn't help but laugh at the second comment, cocking his head to one side.
"What? Don't I look like the pirate type?"

He laughed a bit at Afonso's reaction to his second comment.
"I hope this doesn't offend you, but nope. At least, you don't look like I thought pirates looked like. It's not like I saw any pirates before, so I can't really tell. I mean, maybe I've already seen one somewhere, but it's not like would know."
He explained, shrugging.

"None taken. I wouldn't exactly want to look like a pirate to people. Would probably lead to more problems." He grinned at the other, before watching his crew again. And he couldn't help but agree. Sometimes the people you least expected were pirate.
The world was funny like that.
(orz; I am sorry for this fail response.)

[OOC: Nah, it's okay....I should apologize for taking so long to reply. OTL]
"Hmm, yeah. Now that you've said it, it's true. Looking like a pirate may not be very good."
The Brazilian nodded, thinking about what Afonso had said. Well, he himself wouldn't want to look like a pirate, either. Who knows what kind of problem that would make him end up getting himself into?

(Aaaah! I'm sorry, I took forever to respond, and then I come back with this short thing OTL -fails-)
Falling quiet for a moment or so Afonso stared at the clear sky, before lying down in the sand. With a yawn, he pillowed his head beneath his arms, speaking up before even registering his thoughts.
"Why not come with us?"
