For all that he'd been on Antonio's ship for quite a while-what was probably a small portion of forever really- Francis still had yet to figure out the mans whims. Sometimes, they'd spend months on the ship, stopping only on the rarest occasions to get supplies. Other times the Spaniard would decide to stop at nearly every port or interesting bit of land they came upon.
The captain was currently in the latter mood, having docked the Maria and disappeared into the small town soon after. Actually, he should have been searching for the man (their first mate had ordered requested that he do so-but when did he listen to Lovino?) but he found that his time was better invested in his own explorations.
At first he'd been put off by the place-its lack European glamour and refinement dampening his interest almost immediately. But, after spending time in the bright, lively city he'd found it growing on him despite himself. Before long he'd found himself wandering through the market place, chatting with the locals and drinking...something he'd brought from one of the stalls.

The heat was unbearable for the artic sailor. He had stripped himself of his thick clothes and now just wore a thin red tunic and black leggings along with his boots. It didn't make it look like a regular especially with his blond wavy hair and glasses. SMtill he didn't look threatening so no one paid any mind.
Sweat was on his skin before they even hit the docks and even now with thinner close he was still sweating. He took his breaths with open mouth as he walked through the market place towards a nearby beach to enjoy the cooling waters.
Matthew glanced about the market place, he even spotted some of his crew doing their duties or taking breaks. It was nice and still he couldn't stand the heat.

He found himself rather glad of his minimalist views on clothing as the day progressed. Rolling up the sleeves of the thin shirt he'd been wearing and unbuttoning several of the top buttons had been sufficient for evading the heat.
The frenchman was pulling his hair back into a ponytail with a ribbon he'd fished out pocket when something at the corner of his vision caught his interest. He stared curiously after the blond girl for a few moments, before abandoning the red piece of silk in favor of catching up to her.
Much dogging and crowd weaving later he'd caught up to his prey. Only after he'd tapped them on the shoulder did he realize his mistake.

The tap on his shoulder made Matthew jump and squeaked out a maple before turning around and seeing another man that almost looked like him but more, well ruged looking? Matthew shrunk away.
"C-can I help you?" he askd in a quiet voice not really wanting to look to embarassed or valnarable. He prayed that the man had just mistook him for someone else so he could be on his way.

Francis blinked in confusion at the question for a moment and cringened inwardly. He really should have thought up some kind of excuse before hand...
Thinking quickly he plastered a grin on his face and laughed. "Ehe, sorry about that~ I thought you were someone I knew"

"That's alright, it happens to me a lot." Matthew said before a small smile before heading off a little bit. "I hope you find the person your looking for."
After that he pretty much ran to the beach not wanting to run into the man again. But when he got to the beach the heat was to much for him and he collapsed near the water. The waves rolling over his body lightly. Well at least he didn't land face up and the beach was mostly barren except for a few people. He didn't move that much and just let his body cool down thanks to the ocean waves.

Francis raised an eyebrow at the others strange reaction, watching in amusement as he dashed off. "How very intriguing...." He commented to himself.
He was about to go about his business when he realized that what he'd said hadn't been a complete lie- the more he thought about it, the more the male seemed familiar to him. he sighed-why hadn't he thought to stop him before he ran off?
Ah well, it wouldn't be that hard to locate him again-the locals were friendly, helpful people and it wasn't as if the man couldn't be spotted in a crowd. This in mind, he set out to question the people in his vicinity.

After his skin cooled off Matthew got up, ignoring sand in some different places, and stared out onto the ocean. It seemed he just couldn't escape it. He couldn't escape the feeling that he knew the man as well. He closed his eyes and tried to remember. A soft smile, a gentle voice lulling him to sleep.
That couldn't be the man. If it was he'd be much older by now. WIth a sigh he stood up. What was he suppose to do? He couldn't go find the man. Heaven forbid he couldn't. He paced the beach for a couple feet before finally convincing himself that if he met the man again he'd talk to him a bit more. After that he went back towards the market place to head to the docks and his boat.

It didn't take him long to find the information he needed. He'd soon spotted the white and blue flag he'd been told about, flying above a ship similar to the one he was currently working on.
Having found from previous experience that people tended to be more social when there was food, he took a detour into a near by shop. Stopping to purchase several sweets-chocolate from the smell of them- he made his way towards the craft.
Finding the ship, letters on the side declaring its name to be "Arctic Winds" empty, he sat on the dock to wait, kicking his feet boredly as he watched for signs of the other blond.

After a little while he made it to the docks, thanks to his ability of being practically invisible to others. He practically made it in record time.
He hummed a little tune and continues walking the planks of the docks until he came across his ship. His smile grew as he saw his ship.
"Home sweet home."

He was dozing, eyes drooping closed, listening to the water lap at the ship he was leaning against when the person he was searching for finally appeared.
It took his half functioning brain a moment to recognize the man-but he waved happily when his brain finally connected the figure to its query.
"Hello~ I've been looking for you!"

"O-oh, h-hello. W-Why are you looking for me?" Matthew said becoming flustered. He really didn't expect to see the man so soon and his self confidence that he had tried to gain was quickly gone.
Why did he become so flustered and feel so small from this man? And the eerie feeling he got that he knew this man just wouldn't leave his mind.

Francis smiled reasurringly, patting the man on the shoulder. "So we can have a little chat, of course~" he explained, looping an arm through the other males.
"I bought sweets, It will be fun" He said cheerily. Directing him towards the ship.

"O-oh um alright then?" Matthew said with a slight squeak with the other mans arm on him. He couldn't believe he was being led back to his own ship. How did the man even know it was his? Ah this was insane he didn't know what to do anymore.
So he clung to the other male uncertain of what to do and where to go. He had to think of something to say oh what to do!
"So...um what d-did you want to ta-alk about?"

He was surprised by how easily the other agreed, most pirates,-and he was fairly certain the other shared his profession-were much more suspicious. Not that he was complaining, it saved him a large deal of trouble.
Using the others surprise to his advantage, Francis urged him up the plank leading into the ship"You, of course-as I said, you share quite a resemblance to an old friend of-"
He paused mid sentence, a mortified look on his face "Oh, how rude of me-I never introduced myself. Francis-charmed to meet you Mr...?" He extended a hand for the man to shake, waiting patiently for a reply.
