The darkness surrounding him was thick; Aksel could not manage to see, feel, or think anything. He just kept aimlessly wandering, moving for the sake of movement. Then, like a sharp, sudden jolt of formidable lightning, a majestic winged figure appeared and brought with it light that filled every crevice and devoured every shadow. He was blinded at first, but then slowly managed to bring his gaze up to the being of light before him. Certainty and courage washed away his numbness and doubt just as the light had eliminated the dark as he viewed the luminous harbinger of serenity; the Valkyrie.
----
Aksel woke with a start. He was breathing heavily, chest heaving like he had just sprinted a mile. His body was sprawled across the mattress, taking up a good portion of the bed and forcing the smaller man whom he shared it with to the very edge. This was normal, and the two of them were well used to this routine by now. His eyes wandered over and rested on Alexsander, who was still asleep. The world outside was still draped in nighttime, so he couldn't blame him. Slowly, Aksel's heart slowed to normal along with his breathing. There was no way he'd be able to fall asleep again, so he rolled out of the bed and slid into his regular captain's clothes.
What was it that had shocked him awake? He strained his mind to try and remember as he dressed himself... It was dark... And then... There was light... But what was it? Then he recalled the wings... A Valkyrie? Had a Valkyrie really visited him in his dreams? His heart resumed it's frantic racing; this could mean only one thing; He was going to lead his crew to find Valhalla. The same flood of realization that had graced him in his dream now surged through him.
Suddenly he found himself grinning so broadly, it almost hurt. Naturally, he could not contain his excitement to himself. He sprinted to the side of the bed where the Norwegian was still sleeping peacefully, shouting "HEJ! WAKE UP! I HAVE SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT TO TELL YOU!" He was louder than normal, which was saying alot since Aksel usually spoke about twice as loud than he needed to. It wouldn't be a surprise if he woke the whole damn ship.

Baldur was sleeping peacefully, he had no dreams to wake him and he hugged the pillow close to him as the Puffin his "brother" gave him awhile ago rested near the small of his back. He shifted a little bit as his peaceful sleep continued.
Until he heard "Anko's" annoying voice come through the thin wooden walls. He couldn't make out the words excatly but his sleep was ruined. So irritated he got up, getting a little mixed up in the blanket, and headed over to the cabin next door. Figuring that he should be alright he opened the door and glared at Aksel.
"Anko! It's the dead hours so be quiet! Honestly I think you could wake Odin's court from being this loud!"

Louder than normal was too loud. Alexsander had been asleep, a dreamless sleep, but one none the less. The Norwegian grunted as he was nearly shoved off the bed by the overenthusiastic Dane, and he let out a loud, angry grunt.
This was all Aksel's fault. As always.
If he didn't have to sleep in his stupid bed, then eh wouldn't have been woken up. If he hadn't agreed to join his stupid crew in the first place, then he'd be at home fast asleep right now. But no. Here he was, stuck in a bed with an overzealous Dane, and wanting nothing more than to be asleep.
But...it's not that he hated being on the crew, really. No...no, he enjoyed the adventure and the adrenaline of it all. He just hated having to sleep with him. Not that he'd ever tell Aksel that.
"What do you want, you idiot?" groaned the Norwegian, slapping a hand back and groping about in the darkeness for Aksel's head so he could hit him.

A few things happened in the same moment, all of which negative effects of Aksel's seemingly unwelcome bout of abrupt loudness.
He had undoubtedly succeeded in waking his roommate, not to mention Baldur in the other room. While the sleepy Aleksander's wrathful clutches found their way to the dane's head to strike him, the norwegian's younger brother (who Aksel also considered his own little brother as well) emerged through the door, also looking rather pissed off. Aksel's attention turned to the latter for a moment, oblivious at whatever time it might be but elated that he wouldn't have to run to Baldur's cabin himself to recall his dream again.
"Ah! Baldur, glad ya could make it!" He exclaimed as if he had invited him to an important conference.
This distraction allowed a fairly clean smack from the agitated Norwegian to Aksel's face to land, not that it phased him much, he was used to it. He figured it was Alexs's way of showing that he cared.
"Oww- Anyway! Ya guys havta hear this! I had a dream! A really important dream!" He waved his arms around much too animatedly for someone awake before dawn. A broad grin spread across his lit up face as he surveyed the two others in the room; expressions the exact opposite of his own. He could have described the whole dream if he really felt like it, but right now the dane only had a one-track mind. "We're going to find Valhalla!"

Baldur glared at Aksel, Valhalla. Really? Had their captain gone completely insane, well okay he was insane before but this was the type of insane that he should be in a bin for.
"Valhalla?" He groaned not wanting to get into this. "Captain you shouldn't drink anymore when you go to bed."
Speaking of bed, his was calling him. So he turned around ready to go to bed again and hopefully get some more sleep before his shift.
"Anko is starting to chase myths now..." he mumbled under his breath as he made it to his door.

"Valhalla?"Alexsander echoed his brother's sentiments, blinking dark blue eyes at his captain. Sure, he was a bit older--and perhaps he knew more than the Icelander, because he stared at Aksel, the look on his face a mix of confusion and...possibly wonder. "You mean you had a dream about the...?"

Aksel's bright eyes lit up with energy and he reinforced what he had just told the two of them. "Ja! A valkyrie came to me in my dream! I'm going to lead us to paradise!" He gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up as he spoke; the annoyed and skeptical tones from his audience blew right over his head. Just at the peak of his excitement and he was about to go on some inspired tangent or something, his 'little bro' skulked out of the room muttering something. "Hej! I'm not done yet!" He waved his hands about futilely, as if the action would bring him back into the room, and gave a quizzical look out the door at the retreating figure of his ship's navigator. Aksel then returned his attention to Alexsander and a cheerful expression graced his strong features; A wink and a grin soon followed. "What'd I tell ya, huh? I'm on Odin's good side."

"Apparently. Although how I'm not sure." The Norwegian replied almost absentmindedly, running a hand through his messy blonde hair. He looked to his Captain, who was practically bouncing with glee as he fawned over his newfound discovery--Alexsander found his hand on his chin, deep in thought. Could they have really been chosen for something like that? Why them? And....
Damn it all, why was he so loud? "Nuisance, shut up. I'm thinking."

"What's there to think about?" He sauntered over to the side of the bed and took a seat. "We'll set sail right away! Don't wanna keep 'em waiting, do we?" It didn't matter which way he decided they went, if he really was chosen, he'd automatically know and whichever direction they sailed would be the right one. That was Aksel's logic, anyway.
