Name: Peter Kirkland
Country of Origin: Principality of Sealand
Gender: Male
Age: 12
Height: 130 cm (approx. 4' 2")
Weight: 90 lbs.
Appearance: Standing about 4' 2", Peter sports dirty-blond, scruffy hair and sea-green eyes. His eyebrows are, unfortunately, a bit thicker than the average persons', but not enough to be distracting from his brilliant pearly white smile and round, youthful face. Peter is almost always smiling, and has the natural curiosity of a twelve-year-old boy reflected in his gaze. Like most children, he looks at everything with a sense of wonderment, which can make his gaze seem a bit far-off and even aloof at times.
As Peter is far from being your conventional pirate – being only 12-years-old might have something to do with it – he doesn't dress like a conventional pirate, either. Instead, he chooses to wear something akin to an old-time sailor uniform, with a sailor neck tie and lose-fitting long-sleeved shirt – the sleeves of which are trimmed with a blue and white stripped band. For trousers, he wears a pair of close-fitting capris, along with a plain black belt. His feet are donned with knee-high white socks and plain black Mary Jane shoes. His entire ensemble is topped off with his brilliant blue sailor cap, the tails of which wave behind him in the breeze.

Personality: Initially, Peter seems like the epitome of light-hearted, care-free, and childish. For the most part, these assumptions could be considered true. He is a very bright-faced boy with a positive attitude that never fails, and perhaps a slightly child-like outlook on the world. He has larger-than-life dreams, like most children, and sees the world with a sense of wonderment that only a child can have or understand.
Peter sees the world as a good place with a few bad people in it, not as a bad place with a few good people in it. Thus his outlook on the world and it's inhabitants is very optimistic, and he believes that there is good in every person, but people usually don't take enough time to look for it, being hasty to point out the negative qualities of a person. He frowns upon negativity and pessimism, and believes that anyone can accomplish anything as long as they believe they can.
However, given that he is still only a child, he has moments where he can get a bit bratty and selfish. He struggles with self-esteem issues at even his age, finding that – as an orphan with no real skills – many people over look him, and some even refuse to acknowledge him at all. He is short tempered when it comes to the question of his worth, claiming that someday he will rise to greatness and – for all intents and purposes – rule the world.
Peter often gives off the air of someone with a Peter Pan complex, refusing to ever grow old or grow up at all. He tells everyone he meets that he'd much rather stay a child forever, because children see things in a different way than adults do.
'Adults,' he says, 'are mean, nasty, and pessimistic. They only look at the little details and never see the bigger picture. But kids know how to enjoy the little things in life, and almost always see the bigger picture rather than the smaller ones. They know how to smile when they're happy and cry when they're sad, and if a kid is angry, they'll tell you! Kids are nothing like stuffy old adults.'
Coincidentally, his favorite story is Peter Pan.
History: Being that Peter is still quite young, he doesn't have much of a history behind him like many of his fellow sailors do. For nearly the first half of his life, he was raised by a man who served as an older brother figure to him. The man brought him up as a chimney sweep, working the streets of London. However, his true art was that of the fingersmith – pickpocket, in layman's terms – and he practiced this with as much vigor as he could muster.
After some time, though, it seemed that Peter had lost his use to the man, for he was eventually discarded much like a dirty rag that was far too stained to be cleaned or used for anything else. He wandered the streets of London for a few days, being fed table scraps from sympathetic families here and there, but for the most part, he was left to survive on his own.
A family of wealth eventually took him in, treating him like he was their very own son for a while, offering him the riches and lifetime of security he had thought he'd always wanted. However, it soon became clear to Peter that there was something missing from his life of grandeur, and with a scribbled thank you note to his adopted family, he set out on his own once more to make a name for himself, swearing that he'd do whatever it took to rise to the top – whatever the top may be.
