Personality: Amos is a shy young man. Because of his neighbors picking on him for millennia, he's more introverted than most nations with his wealth and age. Amos has ambition and drive though, and he wants to be a strong nation in his own right. He doesn't like to be bullied, and tends to forget he has a metal arm; so when someone invades his personal space or bugs him during work he's occasionally clocked them with his mechanical arm. Amos deeply dislikes his neighbors Iran and Iraq, and holds a lasting grudge against Arthur for the whole "Crusades" issue. He does like Alfred, and hopes to become part of Alfred's crew soon. Amos isn't good with weapons, and prefers to let trigger-happy folk like Alfred do the fighting. In return, he makes them amazing new mechanical gadgets; he's very ingenuitive, and loves everything he creates. Amos dreams of eventually building an entire ship of his own to sail both the seas and the skies.
Previous Death: Amos ran down the ravine, sweat pouring down his skin. Various cuts and small wounds bled in small streams, staining his burned and torn clothes. His green eyes were flicking back and forth across the dark terrain, searching for a place to hide and rest for a moment. The sound of his enemies tearing through the ravine after him drove Amos further, but he could feel even his extraordinary strength as a nation draining away. He had been running for hours without rest, food, and most importantly in this desert, water. While he was used to drinking very little, he was bleeding and running. He wasn't going to last much longer at this rate. Why was this happening? Why now? Amos' foot caught in a crack and he fell, knowing before he hit the ground that it was over. He'd died enough before to know when he wouldn't be getting back up. Letting out a sob of frustration, he rolled over to gaze at sky. Footsteps drew close, and stopped. Turning his eyes, he looked into the filthy and angry face of Iran, standing over him with a long barrelled weapon above him. "Why?" was all he could gasp out before fire and thunder ended his world.
History: Born again during times of strife for his people, Amos opened his new eyes as a boy in a poor, but happy Israeli home. His parents didn't know where he'd come from, having found him in a basket on their stoop, but they adopted him and raised him along with their daughter Sarah. Before long, he realized who he truly was; he was the Nation of Israel. Hiding this from his family, he continued a normal life and when he was 13 set off to find his own way in life. Falling in love with mechanics, he took an apprenticeship on a steamer. Amos had a terrible accident when he was 15, and lost his entire forearm when a turbine crushed it. Instead of giving up though, Amos took it in stride and constructed himself a mechanical arm. Now 19, he's done with his apprenticeship and has decided to be an engineer on a pirate vessel. Watching the powerful airships and and seacraft sail by the little cargo steamer he worked on, Amos fell in love with their gleaming engines and beautiful detail work. He's especially hopeful to find the crew of his friend and ally, Alfred F. Jones, or America as Amos knew him last. Alfred had stuck up for him many times, and Amos hoped that the lively nation would again if they found each other.
