Yao turned around when he heard a certain Korean's boisterous voice boom in the room as the door swung open. Yao was greeted with a smile from Yong Soo, as he happily expressed his excitement to having some of his home cooking. Yao watched the two boys take a seat at the table, and quickly followed suit.
"Now eat up you too, but Yong Soo make sure not to eat too much or you'll get sick when we're sparring later" Yao lectured.

Mei shuffled out of her room and rubbed at her eyes with her hands still covered in the long sleeves of her pink quipao, growling as she grumped into the dining space," Its to early to be so cheery...I couldn't sleep at all last night..." Mei stifled a yawn, flicking a fan into her hand to whisk through the air," My its stifling today...." Her other hand tugged on the collar of her dress as she looked to her siblings," What are you two up to now?" Mei didn't much trust the blond, but he had been polite thus far so she tried not to be blatantly hostile.

Mattie rubbed at his eyes tiredly, stumbling into the dining room with a yawn. He hoped that no-one would be asking him about why he looked like he had little sleep. Ever since Yao and Yong Soo picked him up for the crew, he'd been having more and more nightmares. The latest one seemed the most terrifying with the bombs falling and everything burning along with his skin, feeling everything triple fold. Mattie was glad he had been tightly wrapped into his blanket or else everyone on board would have heard his screams. He laid his head down on the table and didn't care that his hair was down and loose, uncaring of the long golden-blonde-red strands falling around him. He was wearing his favorite lilac dress, a loose thing that flowed with his movements and was easily washed. He had scattered his knives all over his person and was quite happy to stay calm and happy.

“Ah, really da ze?” Yong Soo murmured, pouting, “People should have more faith in their captain.” He grinned slightly, moving his hand over to gently ruffle Cai’s hair, “But, I guess that means more for the people who did, ye?” He looked up when Yao came over, beaming and reaching for the bowl. “Gamsa, Hyung-nim!” Picking up his chopsticks and eagerly digging in, Yong Soo only looked up from his bowl after Yao addressed him. He wiped a few flecks of rice sticking to his chin, and nodded eagerly, beaming at Yao, “I won’t, da ze~ Over-eating didn’t originate in Korea, y’know.”
Yong Soo looked over to Mei, smiling slightly and waving, “Annyeoung, Mei-Sunyeo~ Yao-Hyung and I are going sparing later. You should come watch!” He waited until Yao was distracted, and bent over quickly, “There’s a betting pool going on, da ze. Ask Cai.” He sat up as Mattie came over, smiling broad and wide at the other, “Annyeoung, Mattie,” he greeted, just in time for the other to flop onto the table. Yong Soo tilted his head, eyebrows raising up, before smiling. “Yeah, it takes a while to adjust to sleeping in a hammock, da ze, when you’re used to a flat bed.” He reached over, patting the other, “Don’t worry, you’ll get it soon enough!” He gave him a bright grin, and returned to his food with aplomb.

"Yong Soo, shall I remind you about how the last time you told me that you were bedridden for an entire day, aru?" Yao asked knowingly. Granted the last time he saw Yong Soo do this was when they still lived in the village, but if the time they spent on this ship was any indicator, Yong Soo hasn't changed much since then.
"Mei, Matthew, glad to see you two are awake now," Yao smiled. Slowly it seemed Yao's family was becoming one again, and this made him extremely happy. Though they all had their arguements, he knew through thick and thin they all had each others backs whenever one of them needed it most. It was the unbreakable bond of family that could not be seen by the naked eye.
Yao looked at Matthew from the corner of his eye. Even if he had a habit to forget about the Canadian once and a while, he was glad to have him on board, and part of the crew. There was no doubt in Yao's mind that everyone else felt the same way towards Matthew. Yao could admit when they first picked up the Canadian that he was a bit apprehensive about how he would get along with everyone, but Matthew proved fit in just fine, which was a huge relief off of Yao's shoulders since he was pretty sure Yong Soo didn't pay any mind to the differences between Matthew, and everyone else on board. Sometimes Yong Soo's carefree attitude was something Yao could admire, but he of course would never tell Yong Soo that.
"Come on now everyone, take a seat. We need to eat this before the food gets cold," Yao said.

With a strangled sound, Cái pulled a small mirror out of his sleeve and brought it up to check his hair after Yong Soo mussed it up. That was, of course, before he realized he hadn't even gelled it up for the day, the loose hair hanging around his collar, with bits and pieces standing almost as upright as he normally kept it due to him not even brushing it before coming out of his room. He blamed it all on his captain - honestly, who woke people up so early in the morning with such loud noises? Grunting under his breath, he replaced the mirror into his sleeve and picked up the bowl in front of him.
Staying close to Yong Soo, he watched both Mei and Matthew cautiously - yes, one was apparently Yao's sibling and the other was, according to the captain, a rather nice person... wearing a dress. Not that Cái cared too much about that - in his opinion, when Yao wore those long shirts of his he looked like he was wearing a dress as well. And he had to give it to the crossdresser - you could barely tell he had a knife on him in the light dress. Even the color suited him. But... something about the two of them just felt 'off' to him. Perhaps because they didn't have the same feel to them as Yao did... or were as openly open as Yong Soo was (after all, when he first met the Korean, he'd honestly wanted to deck the cheerful scatterbrain. Now he was much closer to him, which made Yao a lot happier than he was the day they met up with the Korean.).
Stuffing a bit of rice into his mouth, he watched the two of them rather obviously. They were certainly a curiosity... and, he thought with an internal wry grin, they kept Yao from smothering him all the time by just being there and distracting him.
