"Hwaaaah~" hummed the 17 year old Anaïs. "It's beautiful here!"
Anaïs had never been in such a wonderful place. It was filled with life; townsfolk went about with their own business with smiles on their faces, children played games in the streets, she could hear catchy music in the distance, and delicious foods wafted in the air. It was nothing like home, where people had to travel a good distance to find them. But here, here there was so much to see and do! It was truly enchanting.
"Hmmm, it certainly is beautiful...but," Anaïs mumbled to herself, "I'm just so...so..." She put her hand on her stomach. "Hungryyyy!" In truth, she had skipped a few meals due to almost missing a ride to this town. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep, and when she awoke, she was surprised to find she was already at her destination. But I'm so close, I have to keep going! she tried to convince herself.
Her stomach growled loudly in protest. Then again, it would be rather lousy if I starved to death. She opened up her Timples' case and took out her money sack. She peeked inside. "1, 2, 3....ehhh, that's it?" She groaned. "Not enough for a meal..."
She shook her head. "No, no! Don't be down! Food that you earn tastes better anyway!" She grinned. "Time for a little music~"
She patrolled the streets until she found a suitable space to set up. Case open and on the ground. Timple in her hands. Hundreds of people in the street. A match made in heaven.
She began her warm-up. Testing out the chords, making sure they were in tune. The song she chose was the one she always used to warm up. The national anthem of Andorra; just jazzed up a little. For some reason, she always sang this song exceptionally well. It was a beautiful song, with a wonderful tale. It had always filled her with pride to hear it, and it was by far her favorite song. She cleared her throat.
El gran Carlemany, mon Pare dels àrabs em deslliurà,
I del cel vida em donà de Meritxell, la gran Mare,
Princesa nasquí i Pubilla entre dues nacions neutral
Sols resto l'única filla de l'imperi Carlemany.
Creient i lliure onze segles, creient i lliure vull ser.
Siguin els furs mos tutors i mos Prínceps defensors!
By this time in the song, she had already drawn in a reasonably sized crowd (only a few people). Good, Anaïs thought to herself. I can ask one of them for directions after. She needed directions to the docks. After all, she did come to Spain to find a ship. After hearing a tale of a great treasure to be found, she had hurriedly made her way, in the hopes of finding a crew to join. I will save my family.
I mos Princeps defensors!
The great Charlemagne, my Father, liberated me from the Saracens,
And from heaven he gave me life from Meritxell, the great Mother.
I was born a Princess, a Maiden neutral between two nations.
I am the only remaining daughter of the Carolingian empire
A believer and free for eleven centuries, a believer and free I want to be.
Be the laws of the land my tutors, and my Princes my defenders!
And my Princes my defenders!
( annnnd here we go! Introducing Andorra~ I hope it did a good job ^_^; )
