It was official, Henry was horribly lost. For the first time in several years his maps had failed him, and had dumped him out in the middle of the wilderness. The land still bore scars from bomb strikes years ago, although there were plants growing in them now. It was a beautiful wilderness, but that didn't make being lost any better. He looked around, as if hoping to spot some landmark he recognized, or some place he could pick out on his map. Of course there were none. The path he'd taken had changed considerably since he'd first made the map several years before when he first started traveling.
He had finally convinced a ship to take him back to Europe, where he planned on finding a more stable crew to join for the time being. Of course, all plans for that had been stopped the minute the path, which had only been streight before, forked off in two directions. This had immediately confused him, throwing off his sense of direction entirely. From then on out he'd had nothing but rotten luck. He wondered if he'd crossed paths with any black cats, but that came up negative. He would have noticed a black feline in these parts, there were no cats like that in the wild.
He chuckled to himself, saying calmly "Fine mess you've gotten yourself into this time Henry." He should have known better than to assume things had gone unchanged since he'd last come here. There was nothing but trees and grass and a wild nothingness. He imagined he wouldn't be making it to any towns before sundown. He had chosen the wrong path. He wondered if he should head back, but he quickly put an end to those thoughts, realizing what adventures could lay ahead of him. "You know, maybe this won't be so bad afterall.." He spoke it aloud, although as far as he was aware there was no one to hear it.
Not that it mattered, his luck was changing, and soon enough, he was sure adventure would find him.
