Name: Natalia Arlovskaya
Country of Origin: Russia
Gender Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'2
Weight: 113
Appearance:
Crew member of: [What crew are you in? DO NOT FILL THIS OUT UNTIL ACCEPTED INTO A CREW]
Status: [Are you a captain or crew member? YOU MUST MARK YOURSELF AS CREW IF NOT CAPTAIN-APPROVED BY AN ADMIN!]
Pet: [ONLY the CAPTAIN of a crew may have a pet. Think of it as the captain's parrot or monkey. A mascot of sorts for the ship. Ignore this if you are not a captain.]
Crest: [FOR CAPTAINS ONLY! The Crest of your crew]
Personality: Natalia is a very determined young woman, in all that she does. She is quite cold to all she meets, and tends to keep to herself. She does have a short temper, but instead of yelling she tends to glare and plot her revenge for later. Or whip out one of the many knifes she has hidden on her body. She can be very violent when provoked.
She absolutely hates being treated like she's a child, or that she needs to be protected because of how she looks. Natalia is very strong willed and hates being coddled (like her sister used to do so often). She also dislikes people who are idiots or who act like they're high and mighty. If she could, Natalia would cut them down to size. And that's not just a figure of speech.
The things that make her the happy are minimal. Her brother is one of the few things that will bring a true smile to her face. She always loved him, looking up to him as she grew up and Natalia feels as if he was the only thing holding their family together. When he left, she was heartbroken. She's still looking for him. Another thing that makes her happy are the knifes that she stole. She guards them like a treasure. To her, they represent the day she left the oppression of her 'family's' house and gained freedom. If she can find a place that is calm and quiet, and she can't hear anything except her own breathing and what sounds nature provides, she will truly be peaceful and tends to stop and relax when she finds such a place. It's her small way of forgetting whatever struggles she may be going through, and it makes her happy.
The only way to get on her good side is to respect her, and let her do things her way. If her way ends up being wrong, she will accept the fact, very graciously. If you get close to her, Natalia is fairly pleasant, if somewhat creepy and morbid. Her sense of humor is dark, if you ever even hear her crack a joke. She would fight tooth and nail for her family and friends if she had any, and if she belonged to a crew, the captain would have to prove themselves to her to earn her loyalty.
History: As the youngest sibling in the Bravasnki family, Natalia often watched instead of speaking. Always the quiet child, she tended to fling to her brother and play with her sister. As time went on, she began to question life, and why everything seemed a little strange to her.
When her brother left to join the army, everything seemed to go downhill for her. She had a solitary picture of him that she keeps on her person at all times. When her father died, Natalia and her sister were sent to live with their extended family. This caused their relationship to strain. If finally broke the day they had a big argument, which ended with Natalia stomping off to her room. She could never recall yelling so loudly before. That night, she decided to take what she could and run away, to start a new life for herself. She robbed the house, and when she saw a set of knifes something told her to take them. She sold the valuables and started out in an airport, remembering that her brother took to the skies when he joined the army. She figured he'd still be there, no matter what her sister said about him being dead. She knew he was alive.
Her first plan was to sneak on a ship, but after a minor incident, she planned something different. Her looks and her dress (from being a maid at her 'family's' house) caused people to think she was a ghost, or some otherworldly being. She took the idea and ran with it, buying a few 'props' to make the act more believable.
Natalia has been ship hopping ever since, and along the way has gathered a few of her memories as a nation, some of the people she met along the way jogging her memory.
Allegiance: Wherever brother goes I will follow...
How They Died: As the sun peeked over the ice treetops of Kurapaty, a forest just outside of Minsk, a group of people marched through on a trail that was being used quite frequently these days. Natalia hadn't seen this route before, but she knew where it led, and what waited for them. She shuffled with the rest of the people in her group, all of them 'political' prisoners, arrested for merely trying to protect the individuality that made her country it's own name. The Bolsheviks were cracking down again.
This wasn't the first time that they had arrested large amounts of people for being nationalists. Nor would it be the last, she felt. She looked up at the dark sky that had hints of dawn streaked across it. Her nation was being assimilated into her brothers.... so why wasn't it a good thing? It was what she had wanted.
But Natalia hadn't wanted this. Her people, being killed. Her people, protesting and getting shot. She may have wanted to become one with Ivan, but this wasn't the way she imagined it.
Her whole body ached, and not just from the rough treatment the guards had inflicted on her. Her whole being was being torn apart from the Polish and Bolsheviks rule over her. Some people sided with the Polish government, wanting them to take full control, while others voted for the Bolsheviks. The group who wanted Belarus to stay the way she had been was getting smaller every day.
An unpleasant smell met her nose as a shovel was shoved into her hands, which snapped her out of her thoughts as she heard the rough command in Russian to dig. With all of the people digging around her, they made short work of digging a deep enough ditch for what the men wanted. They were told to stay down there and hand up the shovels, which they all did without a word. Natalia knew what was next, and her heart sped up, as if to fight the very thought of death. She shook silently, and then suddenly broke out in insane laughter.
"My country will live without me! And it will survive! We will push you back and regain independence!" She cried out in her native tongue, a twisted grin marring her sharp features. "No matter what you do, we will win. Long live Belarus!" It might have come out a bit strange to the Russians who were mounting the guns, but they got the general idea.
"Crazy bitch." One muttered before they opened fire into the ditch.
Did you read the rules? Who is a Beastie?: Ivan~ No Jack Sparrow, but he's not as much of a beast as brother.
